Lake Summit, "The Jewel of the Appalachians" TM  is nestled in the picturesque Southern Appalachian Mountains just minutes from Historic Hendersonville, Flat Rock, & Saluda.  Greenville, Spartanburg, and Asheville are each about a 40 minute drive from the lake.

Covering 322 acres with around 10 miles of shoreline, Lake Summit is a very special place.  Power is generated from the Northbrook Energy hydroelectric plant at the eastern end of the lake.  There are just over 225 cottages with boathouses around the lake; most used as summer getaways.  On the western end of the lake and along the headwaters of the Green River; Camps Greystone, Green Cove, Mondamin, and Falling Creek have long histories as great summer camps.  The Green River is the main tributary for the lake and proudly carries the designation of "High Quality Waters (HQW)'".  The Lake Summit Property Owners Association, along with various governing bodies, direct rules and regulations regarding power boating and construction.  They promote lake safety and ensure Lake Summit remains unspoiled for generations to come. Residents enjoy power boating, sailing, skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, pontoon cruises and just sitting on the porch taking in the view - and maybe even a refreshing adult beverage or two.  For more information, visit the Lake Summit Property Owners Association page at

"Jim is one of a kind. I am convinced he is the only one that could have gotten it done. There is not a single detail that he does not take care of. He makes the process smooth, and I could not be more pleased!

I would never use another realtor."

Tania (Lake Summit Seller)

"When we decided for age and distance reasons that it was time to sell our Lake Summit home, we knew that Jim was the person  to lead us through the process. We had owned our house for more than 30 years and it was a tough decision.

Jim has a special talent in that he picks up on all the positives about a home and subtly translates them into a written description that  is worthy of a Pulitizer Prize. In addition, he handles the negatives in a manner that removes them as issues. He also provided excellent advice on how best to prepare our home for showing.  Throughout the entire process, he always kept us informed on progress including any negatives that had to be dealt with. His assistance on setting the price was not only right but very profitable.

On a scale of 1 to 10, he is at least a 20!!!

George and Martha (Sellers)

"For our Lake Summit property search and recent purchase, no one is better than Jim Kirkpatrick! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the covenant restrictions, area service providers and more. He was able to persevere with us for years until we found just the right property for our needs. You cannot go wrong choosing Jim Kirkpatrick for your real estate needs."
